I enjoyed strolling the park and exploring the booths of the talented artists. This is slightly smaller in scale, however the atmosphere is warm and inviting. There were over 50 artisans who participated and there was a nice range of fine arts available such as jewelry, pottery, paintings, clothing, stationery, soaps, face painting, photography, hand blown glass, sculpture, home decor, food goodies and more. I could not resist coming home with treasures of my own and purchased a couple bracelets this visit.
Other activities included live performances from dance troupes and local bands and a kid’s art tent with art demonstrations and free art activities. The event has ample parking, restrooms and admission and activities are free. Food and refreshments are also available for the patrons to enjoy.
The McCormick Park runs along the river and is a beautiful area to visit anytime with a great playground structure to amuse the kids. It is also a dog friendly park and Gucci and Tucker love going here. I would recommend taking advantage of the picnic tables along the river to eat lunch during your visit while enjoying the scenery. Plan your visit to Williamston and be sure to check out this Art Fest next summer.
